Education is full of jargon and nowhere is there more jargon than a clinical day or therapeutic day school program. When fields overlap, the language used in the program evolves and teachers are expected to understand terms that may not be used in traditional special education. Trauma-Informed Teaching

Trauma-informed teaching involves understanding and responding to the impact of trauma on students' learning and behavior. It means creating a safe, supportive, and predictable environment that promotes trust and connection. This approach recognizes that students may have experienced various forms of trauma and seeks to avoid re-traumatization while fostering resilience and academic success.
